Aug 7th, pine grove furnace park

Hiked 22 miles to Pine Grove Furance Park for the famous half gallon ice cream challenge. You are suppose to see how fast you can eat the ice cream and record it in a book. Times range from 20 minutes to 7 minutes. Max and I hiked into town earlier for some subs and soda. Food is better than sleep at this point, drank an entire liter of coke. The terrain wasn't to terribly rocky today, we keep hearing it gets rough after some river. While hiking we made it to the official, "official" half way point on the AT. We arrived at Pine Grove to late in the day for the general store's half gallon challenge. We decided to camp out behind a bathroom and stealth camp. No way were paying money to pitch a tent. Was able to cook a hot meal, cheesy rice with tortillas. Tomorrow the challenge!
